Evans Elevation:   14,264 Date:           July 13, 2008 Climbers:    Jody & Anna Info:            The climb started out to be a three man (Jody, Anna, and Kelly), turned out Kelly decided to stay home with mom on her bday. The Jodster and Annaster hit the road to Idaho Springs about 5am. We decided to take the route up Mt. Spalding near Summit Lake. Started out on the trailhead about 7:00. Reaching the summit of Mt. Spalding at 7:45. By the way, found a nice coat on top of Spalding (see picture). Then we headed down the side of Spalding through a huge rock field and up the back side of Evans. On the back side of Evans found some icicles in July!? After some nice interactions with some goats, we headed across the parking lot to finish up. Spent an hour on top with a couple of guys who drove up (man they must’ve been tired). After congratulating the cars for driving up, headed straight off that beast back to the road, and finally walked back to the truck along the road.
