Mt. Democrat, Bross, Cameron 2005
Elevation: 14,148', 14,172', and 14,238'
Date: August 13, 2005
Climbers: Jody, Art, and Nancy
Info: The team met this morning before sunrise in conifer where Nancy presented us with gifts from her trip to Peru and delicious breakfast burritos. We continued on to the Kite Lake parking area and started our climb up the steep and rocky Mt. Democrat. Weather was somewhat threatening all day so after descending to the shoulder we discussed strategy and decided to continue up the ridge to Cameron and make a decision to continue on from there. Due to weather we opted to move on to Bross and then down, leaving Mt. Lincoln for another day. Nancy had a minor injury on the descent from Cameron to Bross, painful and a little bloody but nothing serious. The descent from Bross was a very steep couloir which seemed to go on for ever. We saved the celebratory beers for the parking area on this one, much appreciated by then. As always continued the celebration over lunch.
